The nearest sandy beaches of St. Germain Plage, Plage Creances and Pirou are located 10 to 15 minutes, but are only a small part of this unique coastline. For more variation there are many typical farmer’s markets, flea markets, country fairs and music festivals including the famous Coutances Jazz Festival in May and the huge, colorful animal market in Lessay in May and September.

If you can not resist a typical French breakfast, we recommend a 5-minute morning walk to our general store in the village of “Chez Valerie,” which gets a delivery every morning fresh crispy croissants and baguettes. For larger purchases, La Haye du Puits (5km) 3 large supermarkets (Aldi, Carrefour and Intermarche), bakeries, butcher shops, restaurants, banks, post office, etc., as well as a traditional market every Wednesday morning. For very special treats we recommend a visit to the Maison du Biscuit, Reo and Fromagerie Les Jambons du Cotentin. The huge French hypermarkets are located in Cherbourg (Auchan, Carrefour, …) or Coutances (Leclerc).
